Sidney Blewett was one of the oldest inhabitants of Walmington-on-Sea. ==Personality== Mr. Blewett is often shown as a stubborn old man that does not like to be told what to do. When he does show up, he often unintentionally complicates or annoys people. One such case is him telling ARP Warden William Hodges that the Germans are very good at making all sorts of different things. For years he held the photographic concession on the West Promenade, selling photographs to passers by and trippers. His earlier careers are lost in the fog of time, but since retirement, he has become a Jack of all trades. One of his many tasks is gardener to the Vicar, but he could so easily turn his hand to restoring old picture frames ("there's a dying art"), repairing bicycles, portrait photography, and keeping chickens to name a few. Although being married for 50 years, there is still life in the wrinkled frame, as he is caught out with Mrs Yeatman on a Darby & Joan bus trip. He has an immensely rigid relationship with Mr Hodges, since at one point Sidney exploded I hate you! and then started continuously mocking his catchphrase Put that light out!, stating 'The bigger they are, the harder they fall', which is an indication on how Hodges' immense sense of self-righteousness and importance can be used against him far too easily. He lived with his brother Horace until the latter's death in No Spring for Frazer. ===Notes=== *In The Armoured Might of Lance Corporal Jones, Mr. Blewett is credited as 'Old Man'.
