Caroline Dowdeswell (born 7th March 1945, Oldham, Lancashire) is a former English television actress.

Acting Career[]
She attended theatre school from age 12 and joined the Bromley Rep at 17. Her television career includes appearances in Crossroads, Softly, Softly, Z-Cars, Series 1 of Dad's Army, the On The Buses movies, Casanova and Man About The House. She retired from acting in 1978.
Dad's Army[]

Caroline recurring appeared in series 1 as Swallow Bank employee Janet King. She filmed all six episodes, but her scene in The Showing Up of Corporal Jones was edited out of the finished programme. Her part was taken over by Harriet Rhys in the original Dad's Army movie and by Elizabeth Morgan in the radio version of Something Nasty in the Vault.

Dowdeswell now works in the publishing industry.
