The Dad's Army Wikia is a collaborative database of information about the BBC's classic comedy series Dad's Army, which ran on the BBC from 31st July 1968 – 13th November 1977 for 9 series & 3 Christmas specials (80 episodes in total) plus a radio series, a feature film and a stage show. On its inception, reviews for the first series were mixed but the gradually grew to becoming one of Britain's most popular sitcoms, with an regular audience of 18 million viewers. The series remains well-known and still garners popularity today, with a second film and remakes of missing episodes made recently.
Dad's Army was set in the fictional south coast seaside town of Walmington-on-Sea, during the Second World War. Alternating moments of gentle character comedy with broad slapstick, it recounted the misadventures of the local voluntary defence force (or 'Home Guard'), consisting of men who are too old or 'unfit' for military service.

06/02/25 - New portable style infoboxes are being added to all pages across the Wiki. This process will take some time, as such this will probably be the last news update until it is completed. Leave us a message on your thoughts about these changes at: Dad's Army Wiki talk:Community Portal.
01/01/25 - Article comments have been enabled, a new TV episode infobox has been made along with a navbox which lists every episode. The mainpage update is mostly finished, with only minor changes remaining.
14/12/24 - The Wiki theme has been updated for the first time in over 4 years. There is a new logo, an altered Light Theme, a new Dark Theme and the favicon has returned. The Mainpage is also being renovated so will often change over the coming days.
The Love of Three Oranges - The third Christmas special episode of Dad's Army. It was first transmitted on Sunday 26th December 1976. A church bazaar is organized for the "Comforts for the Troops Fund". Hodges intends to auction three oranges, and Mainwaring is determined to get hold of one for Mrs Mainwaring... find out more!
